convocation..

finally, after 4 years.. ive graduated from ntu school of computer engineering!! the tonnes of programming and stupid shits of lab work ive finally done them all.. not without the help of frds' seniors' answers, and sample lab books of course ;)

the ceremony although 1.5hrs long, it wasnt as boring as i thought.. prolly cus i was gossiping with chitera about who's who and who's doin wad..had alot of photo sessions after dat as well with almost anybody i can grab.. luckily i had js with me who was my cameraman for the day! was abit pai seh to let my family wait for me while i took photos.. halfway it drizzled and the whole family ran to take a pic wif the stupid convo banner b4 they went home..

went for dinner and drinks with zj, hs and rog and gang.. it was quite nice though they all didnt know each other in the first place! i like mixing friends together :) 'twas a good day.

Day 0 - Day 3 in Dubai, London, Paris...

Our 1st flight to Dubai was delayed in Singapore.. Subsequently missed the connecting flight in Dubai.. Slept and walked around at Dubai airport for about 5 hours.. The chairs are definitely not meant for sleeping.. Had alot of curry at the airport restaurant.. Saved a little money by having included lunch over there.. heh

Reached London Gatwick airport 7 hours behind our original time.. All plans for Day 0 were flushed down the drain.. Walked around the Russell Square area and checked out the hostel we were staying for the last 2 days of the trip.. wasn't too bad.. lots of youngsters..

Met the contiki group in the morning on Day 1.. 19 Malaysians, 2 Indonesians, 1 Korean, 3 Singaporeans (us) and the other half consists of Australians, South Africans and Americans.. Kinda happy to see so many chinese in the group, but apprehensive cus they all seem to know each other very well.. They turned out to be exchange students in UK going for a trip b4 goin back home to Msia..

Made our way across the ferry crossing from UK to Calais, France.. Lotsa greenery along the way.. still very enthusiastic, took alot of greenery blurry shots on the coach.. :p

Reached Paris and finally saw the fame Eiffel Tower.. In awe of it... the 3 of us just kept running across the green patch beside the tower, taking pictures every 50metres as we ran.. It was damn funny I tell u.. We saw the Eiffel on Day 1 and we also went up the tower on Day 2 and the view was breathtaking.. Could see the Arc Du Triomphe, Sacre Coeur the highest point in Paris, the triangular shape of the Louvre Museum.. The weather and wind there was also fukin cold la!! And I thought it was supposed to be summer!! I was freezing even though I had 2 sweaters on.. BUrrrrr...

After the Eiffel Tower, we proceeded with our approximately 9km journey on foot.. 2nd stop was to the Arc Du Triomphe. The beautiful carvings on the walls didn't really have any meanings fer us becus there was nobody to explain what was it all about.. On our walk to Champs Elysees, we were approached by 2 chinese nationals who needed foreigners to buy LV stuff for them as each passport only limits them to 2-3 wallets..However, they didnt offer us a high renumeration so we didn't bother about them..

On the way, we passed by Place du la Concorde, the statue of Joan of Arc.. Went to Sainte Chapelle but we didn't go in.. Reached Notre Dame, but the last admission had just passed so we didn't manage to go in! :( Had really wanted to see the painted glass.. We took the metro and went back to the Eiffel Tower at night after dinner becus we didn't wanna go back to the campsite so early and boy, the lights were amazing! We had happened to come at the right time at 10pm where the lights all over the tower were blinking and it was really beautiful.. Words can't describe what we saw and I think the pictures posted weren't good enough to tell.. Somehow, although its just a brown tall structure, it just captivates me and makes my teeny hairs stand when I relive the scenes in my mind..
